About me

Having trained in Germany as a teacher of Art, German and French, and as an interpreter for French and Spanish, I split my time between teaching and working as an artist.
In the last few years, I also started a website design business and designed a number of successful websites (including this one).
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Nature, people, animals, the sea, the beaches, my own dreams and inner
images inspire my work. My inspiration also comes from folk & tribal art, especially African and Mexican. And there are quite a few artists of all styles, whose work I adore, who also influence me: Antoni Tapies, Emil Schumacher, Horst Janssen, Anselm Kiefer, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, Edouard Vuillard, August Macke - only to mention a few of them.
My abstract artworks are often drawn from shapes and textures which develop spontaneously into non-figurative forms. I do not conceive my work to deliver a specific message. Each piece
possesses its own message - as imagined and associated by the viewer. I love experimenting, so I work in many different media.
